The version 0.5 release of Songbird, the part web-browser part media player built on Mozilla (Firefox) from the folks that built Winamp and the Yahoo Music Engine, has been out for a few weeks now and we finally had a chance to play with the latest release (see official release notes here).

It seems to be coming along nicely with each release (I really like the Hype Machine integration) and they’re already busy working away on the v0.6 release. If you haven’t had a chance to give it a try, stop by songbirdnest.com, download, and give it a go.
